Getting Started
4A Table is your group of people — family, roommates, friends, or anyone you eat with. When you ping a Table, everyone in it gets notified. Think of it like a real dinner table, but digital.
Open your Table and tap "Invite." You can invite people from your contacts, enter a phone number manually, or share an invite link. People with the app get push notifications; everyone else gets a text message.
Nope! That's the beauty of Time to Eat. App users get push notifications, but you can also add people via phone number — they'll receive a friendly SMS instead. Everyone stays in the loop.
You can sign in with Google, Apple, or email and password. It takes about 10 seconds. No phone number verification needed.
Pings & Notifications
3When you tap the big "Time to Eat" button, we send a push notification to every app member at your Table through Firebase Cloud Messaging. They'll see it on their lock screen with your name and Table emoji.
For Table members added via phone number, tapping the ping button opens your phone's native messaging app with a pre-written text. You just hit send. The messages go through your regular phone plan — no extra charges from us.
Yes! Time to Eat+ subscribers can choose from a variety of fun notification sounds in Settings. Free users get the classic "Ding" and "Chime" sounds. Find a sound that becomes your family's signature dinner bell.
Subscriptions
3The free plan includes 1 Table with up to 6 members, 5 SMS pings per month, eating streaks, reactions, and 2 notification sounds. It's everything you need for one group.
Time to Eat+ unlocks up to 10 Tables, 25 members per Table, unlimited SMS pings, all custom notification sounds, and priority support. Available for $3.99/month or $29.99/year.
You can cancel anytime through your device's subscription settings. On iOS, go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. On Android, go to Google Play > Subscriptions. You'll keep Plus features until the end of your billing period.
Troubleshooting
3First, make sure notifications are enabled for Time to Eat in your device settings. On iOS: Settings > Notifications > Time to Eat. On Android: Settings > Apps > Time to Eat > Notifications. Also check that Do Not Disturb and Focus modes are turned off, and that your device has an active internet connection.
SMS pings are sent from your device using your phone's native messaging app. Make sure: (1) you have cellular service, (2) the phone number is entered correctly with country code, (3) your messaging app is functioning. Check your sent messages to confirm the text was delivered.
Go to Settings in the app, scroll to the bottom, and tap "Delete Account." This permanently removes your account and all associated data (Tables, pings, reactions). If you have an active subscription, remember to cancel it separately through your app store to avoid future charges.
